See grant Travel Reimbursement for Clinical Study Participants
The purpose of this $10,000 grant was to reimburse study participants for their travel and time costs associated with coming to the clinic and participating in two ongoing clinical studies, one led by Dr. Manda Keller Ross, co-investigator Michael Kyba, focusing on metabolism in FSHD and the other led by Dr. Michael Kyba, focused on studying primary cells from muscle of FSHD patients. To date, we have provided study reimbursements to approximately 40 participants, with $4788.31 remaining. While the metabolic studies are now completed, the biopsy study is still ongoing. During COVID, the biopsy study was actually paused, however Dr. Kyba has recently renewed his IRB protocol and scheduling of new biopsy study participants has begun, thus we envisage spending out the remaining funds in the next 2 years.
