Doris Leung is the director of the Center for Genetic Muscle Disorders at the Kennedy Krieger Institute and an associate professor of neurology at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. She joined the Center for Genetic Muscle Disorders in 2010 as the first translational research fellow funded by the UMass FSHD Wellstone Muscular Dystrophy Cooperative Research Center and assumed the role of director in 2020. She has served as principal investigator for an NIH-funded longitudinal cohort study of whole-body MRI in FSHD as well as multiple industry-sponsored clinical trials in muscular dystrophy. She is the director of a multidisciplinary clinic focused on the diagnosis and management of hereditary muscle diseases.
