Laura Johnstone is a physical therapist and a teaching associate in the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine with more than a decade of clinical experience that spans from orthopedics to critical care rehabilitation. In the DPT program, she teaches and assists in a variety of courses. Since 2017, Laura has been conducting research investigating functional strength in those living with FSHD as well as in those with chronic kidney disease. She continues to be a clinical educator at the Harborview Outpatient Physical Therapy Clinic and is a Clinical Director for the Special Olympics Washington Healthy Athletes Program. Laura has a Masters of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Washington and a PhD in Rehabilitation Sciences (to be awarded August 2020) from the University of Washington.
