Philipp Heher obtained his Ph.D. with highest honors from Vienna University of Technology in 2018. His background is molecular biology, with a specific interest in modelling myogenic tissue development and disease with dynamic, bioreactor-based tissue engineering approaches. He is currently a post-doctoral fellow in Dr. Giorgio Tasca's lab at John Walton Muscular Dystrophy Research Centre, and his primary research interest is to decipher the etiology and pathomechanistic role of metabolic stress in FSHD.
