Asifa Lalji, APR

New Westminster, British Columbia, Canada

After a successful career spanning almost 30 years in communications and public relations leadership, FSHD nudged Lalji into a reinvention.

Like many FSHers forced to abandon or adjust their natural professional and personal goals when the condition progresses, Lalji began a new journey which included advocacy around accessibility through universal design, unconscious bias and living equal rights.

Her fundraising efforts for FSHD include a comedy night called #standup4fshd which raised approximately $15,000 over three years.
