Rick worked for the Boeing Company for 36 years after graduating with both a degree in Aeronautical Engineering and a Masters in Business from the University of Washington — Seattle. He retired in January 2013 and is focusing on Masters Swimming and working with Friends of FSH Research. Rick was a 1972 and 1976 Olympian, winning a bronze medal in 200m breaststroke for the United States in the 1976 Olympics.
