Stephanie received her B.S. in Biochemistry from Santa Clara University (SCU) in 2018. At SCU, she worked in the Carter-O’Connell lab conducting assays to analyze poly(ADP-ribose) polymerases (PARPs) ability to ADP-ribosylate, studying their specific protein targets, and examining how ADP-ribosylation affects function. After graduation, she worked as a Production Biochemist in a GMP manufacturing environment at List Biological Labs. She then moved to Alector, a biotech company that focuses on Alzheimer’s research, to work as a Research Associate on the Downstream Purification team. In 2021, Stephanie joined the Structural Biology and Biochemistry PhD program at CU Anschutz. Her passion for translational cancer research led her to join the Ramachandran lab to work on cell-free DNA and the ways it can be exploited to diagnose cancer or assess a patient’s response to treatment. Stephanie is also a mentor in the Women in STEM program at CU Anschutz, as she wants to help guide women on their path to entering the sciences.
