Natoya Peart is a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. She is one of four Department of Biochemistry & Molecular Biology graduate who were recipients of the 2015 Medical School Dean’s Research Award.
"We work on 3' end processing of RNA Polymerase II transcripts, in particular I focus on mRNA 3'end processing. We use molecular biology techniques to generate reporters to assay mRNA 3'end processing (cleavage and polyadenylation, transcription termination) in human cells and in in vitro processing cell extracts.
