Amanda Rickard is a research scientist on the neuromuscular disease therapeutics development team at Genea Biocells in San Diego, where she uses stem cells to model FSHD muscle debilitation and search for potential therapies. Previously, she worked in Dan Miller's lab at the University of Washington in Seattle as an academic researcher focused on understanding FSHD. Outside of the lab she volunteers with various patient outreach organizations, participates in FSHD-related fundraisers, and spends her free time doing yoga and enjoying Southern California.
